02:03:30<@JAA>I didn't have to block AWS, but it might be that those were scrapers that identified themselves, so my UA blocks caught them instead.
02:04:17<@JAA>The sneaky browser UA scrapers I saw used Alibaba, Huawei, and Tencent. And after I blocked those, they switched to residential proxies.
02:11:55<anonymoususer852>There are ways around auto-dubbed audio on youtube, like spoofing the client to be ios TV or something. Though otherwise that is lametube for you, fixing things that isn't broken.
02:32:08<steering>JAA: I got lots of fake UAs from AWS too, but that was after I started blocking stuff as well

12:42:51<anonymoususer852>I'm convinced it's a relic from the old web (pre-millennia), the use of "ww(?/.*)[[:digit:]].*\." subdomains, looking at https://www2.biglobe.ne.jp/~nir/misc/fj-no-arukikata/ which returns 404 if I were to replace "www2" with "www".
12:42:59<atluxity>I used to work at a managed hosting company. The reason one often would use a www2 is to redirect and kindof hide behind that you are actually redirecting stuff over to a vendor that does specialized stuff like traffic analysis or surveys, but still show the end user that they have no reason to worry because the domain name is still the usual one (ish) that they are used to.
12:44:16<atluxity>so technically speaking the www2 would be a cname to the other service provider, skin it like the user is known with from the original website... while www goes to the webhosting for the usual website with its own CMS
12:47:27<BlankEclair>oh huh! that seems to be it for eduvic
