20:01:46<atphoenix>Assuming there will be wireless bandwidth constraints at larger scale, wireless providers like TMO HI and Starlink should prioritize serving customers in areas that aren't already served by high speed landline options. But the flip side is if the landline options have data caps (I'm looking at you Comcast), and TMO HI and Starlink do not, then things are just ugly. Data caps are stupid. Period.

20:43:44<atphoenix>We have a grandfathered discounted Comcast plan. It didn't have a cap when we signed up, but now it does. If they increase our rates, it'll be service-shopping time. TMO service is good in this area. Comcast ads say customers can upgrade to 'uncapped' for an additional $50/month which would more than double our bill (and it might not be just +$50 as I suspect that $50 is counted from their current default rates, not grandfathered
20:43:45<atphoenix>rates). I'm hopeful that Comcast will feel pressure from TMO and Starlink, and change their tune on capping. In the meanwhile, I just need to be sure to use up most of the 1.2 TB data cap every month to boost the metrics for 'average customer monthly data transfer'.
