16:51:48<@JAA>Looks like onlinekosten.de has stupid rate limits. AB got 429'd after 2 dozen requests or so.
17:19:32<@arkiver>JAA: need a project?
17:19:42<@arkiver>i didnt look at the site yet
17:20:14<@arkiver>looks like it's all sequential
17:20:42<@JAA>The forums are standard vBulletin, yeah. The website's a custom thing I'm sure.
17:21:14<@arkiver>well if we cant figure it out due to blocks, let me know
17:21:16<@JAA>Looks like the limit is somewhere between 1 and 1.5 seconds delay between requests.
17:21:45<@arkiver>looks like that forum may also be a nice source for #//

19:36:10<qw3rty__>JAA: Yes, I tried running it in grab-site with the recommended "--concurrency=1 --delay=500-1500" but got 429s right away. Now I've set it to "--concurrency=1 --delay=2000-2500" and it's chugging along fine. But that is way to slow obviously.
19:37:53<qw3rty__>They have 148.145 threads and 2.506.966 posts.

22:43:56<@JAA>qw3rty__: Do you know of any other sites owned by Verivox that are also being shut down? It all sounds like onlinekosten isn't the only one.
23:09:49<qw3rty__>Yes, they will also shut down the CHIP forum. (https://forum.chip.de/) But it looks like they will turn it to read only in this case. Announcement: https://forum.chip.de/discussion/1905133/chip-forum-kuenftig-als-read-only-version
23:11:04<@arkiver>we should get it anyway
23:11:06<@arkiver>any others?
23:14:12<@JAA>Username associations will be purged, so we should grab it before then anyway.
23:14:54<qw3rty__>Any others? Not that I know of.
23:15:12<@JAA>(All discussions/comments will stay online, but they will be under a generic username because the accounts are getting deleted. So it will no longer be possible to link comments to a particular user anymore.)
23:19:36<@JAA>A Reddit thread talks about 'a few others' being shut down besides onlinekosten and CHIP. I've asked for details.
23:22:24<qw3rty__>In 2018 the Cinefacts forum got shut down. Did you, by any chance, archive that as well?
23:22:46<@JAA>No mention of it in my IRC logs, so I doubt it.
23:24:15<@JAA>GIGA and SPON were the big German ones I archived personally. Not sure about others.
23:24:53<qw3rty__>That's a shame. DVD and BluRay publishers used to post interesting inside information on there.
23:27:16<@JAA>The gulli:board is also lost I think. :-/
