16:26:36<justauser>https://www.grandtheftwiki.com/ - what a genius Cloudflare config! index.php it allowed through, api.php is met with a robot challenge. Dumping with --xml, but that will allegedly miss the history.
16:28:58<klea>justauser: why not try to give WT3 cookie file?
16:29:58<justauser>That's Wikibot.
16:30:23<justauser>But even on my server, I can't find a way to click the CF CAPTCHA.
16:32:20<justauser>If you can, there are some wikis in the backlog that are behind CF and that aren't vulnerable to my tricks.
16:33:55<klea>ssh -D my beloved
16:34:39<justauser>Meh. Never worked right.
16:35:54<klea>oh, i guess that's likely true.
16:52:37<justauser>Oh. I found a way.
16:52:49<justauser>Typical gross hack.
16:53:28<justauser>If I solve a CAPTCHA in a Tor Browser, it works for any Tor IP, not just the one I happened to use when solving.
16:58:56<justauser>...but only for Curl, not for Wget or Wikiteam3
17:01:10<justauser>OK, I messed up the cookie file.

21:07:50<HaplessSod>Hello, I'm very inexperienced with any kind of archiving, and any kind of code. There is a wiki.gg site that is very near and dear to me and I want to preserve it, however just based on the wikiteam3 github I'm very lost as to the steps needed to do so
21:08:14<pokechu22>Hi, I can run it for you in #wikibot. Which site is it?
21:09:24<HaplessSod>that'd be great! I don't want to consume too many resources or cause too much of an inconvenience so if it's too much please say. the site is https://calamitymod.wiki.gg
21:10:04<HaplessSod>if it's too much i'd be more than happy learning how to archive it myself, i'm looking to try to get all of it, from page history to comments and discussion threads
21:11:11<pokechu22>Looks like we previously ran it in August 2025 (see https://archive.org/search?query=originalurl%3A%28%2Acalamitymod.wiki.gg%2A%29 for all past runs and https://archive.org/details/wiki-calamitymod.wiki.gg-20250828 for that specific one), and it had 1.1 GB of images at the time (which is relatively small; we've done much bigger sites)
21:12:47<pokechu22>I can do a new run if you think there's important changes since then (in general we wait a year between grabs unless someone requests otherwise though - there's capacity right now so it wouldn't be an issue to do it now if you want)
21:14:19<pokechu22>If you want to save it locally, I believe all you need to do after installing for that site is run this command: wikiteam3dumpgenerator https://calamitymod.wiki.gg --xml --xmlrevisions --images --bypass-cdn-image-compression
21:14:24<pokechu22>(but I haven't used it locally myself)
21:15:10<yzqzss>https://wikikeeper.saveweb.org/wikis/cf7cc23c-6523-4355-ae93-f3fedf610f55
21:15:22<HaplessSod>August is after most of the important updates, i'll quickly check the recent changes to see if there was any big additions
21:20:31<HaplessSod>my only other question is if there's a way to view the data simmilar to how you would on a normal wiki, i know that you can open local files on your pc through your browser, would it operate the same way?
21:20:44<HaplessSod>also thank you for showing me this!
21:23:00<pokechu22>I'm not 100% sure if there is a tool for that - the main goal is to export something that can be imported into a new wiki if needed. But it's a standard format for mediawiki. I know someone else has asked about it before but I don't remember what the solution ended up being
21:25:08<HaplessSod>gotcha, so i'd just have the 14-15 files, and if i wanted to access them i'd need to set up a wiki.gg and import it to that?
21:25:34<pokechu22>That'd be one option at least
21:28:35<pokechu22>(You can also look at the XML history dump file in a text editor, but it contains every revision and is sorted by time, so it's not super practical to read directly.)
21:33:11<klea>if someone has time and could look in wikiteam's logs for a mention to that previous conversation it'd be neat.
21:33:25<klea>huh, yzqzss does wikikeeper save to IA?
21:35:30<yzqzss>you mean the database data? not yet, but that's in my plan
21:36:24<klea>oh ok
