06:15:32<Nemo_bis>JAA: The miraheze folks started doing those dumps when I asked them but I think it's a manual process, so unsurprisingly it's not regular.
06:16:21<Nemo_bis>I think the main difficulty for them might be to identify which wikis are really public and ok to dump. (Unless it's an issue of database load, which seems unlikely though.) It will probably become easier with the new wikifarm architecture in the latest MediaWiki core.
06:17:00<Nemo_bis>pokechu22: The fork was 10 years ago and Wikitravel kept going strong, mako (https://mako.cc ) wants to make a study on it and they need recent data.
06:19:55<Nemo_bis>Post-Evan WikiTravel has always resisted data dumps, but I wouldn't worry too much. With --xmlrevisions we're very unlikely to cause any load issues, so the main concern is how to bypass cloudflare. Doing one wiki at a time it should be feasible, though it might need some trial and error to find suitable delays.
06:29:42<pokechu22>Once I had an acceptable cookie it seemed like I didn't need to specify a delay with https://github.com/WikiTeam/wikiteam/pull/441 - and apparently wii-homebrew.com is on a pretty aggressive cloudflare setting (though maybe not the worst anymore). But those wikis were fairly small (and you'd have to deal with resuming if cloudflare gets mad at you, which xmlrevisions doesn't
06:29:43<pokechu22>currently handle well in my experience)
06:33:49<pokechu22>Also, if you have wikiapiary admin powers, https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/Wikitravel_-_The_Free_Travel_Guide is a duplicate of https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/Wikitravel_(en)

16:34:20<@JAA>Nemo_bis_: Thanks, I'll edit the page a bit more to reflect that.
