18:05:05<@JAA>TIL moderated wikis display the timestamp of the original edit on the history page but the timestamp of approval in RecentChanges. Would be interesting to know what ends up in our dumps.
18:06:08<@JAA>E.g. Imgur on https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php/Special:RecentChanges vs https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Imgur&action=history
18:06:43<@JAA>(As a sidenote, I don't like this at all since it misrepresents when each version became publicly visible.)

19:02:40<Ryz>I think this makes sense since you're approving the edit to be applied to the wiki,
19:03:22<Ryz>Otherwise, say if there's a wiki that's very active, with tons of edits made every day, say someone who's unmoderated decides to make a huge and complicated edit, requiring a person to spend time having to check all of it,
19:04:09<Ryz>The more time it takes for a moderator to check on it (or the more time it takes for a moderator to notice said pending edit), the more like this edit if submitted would just suddenly appear not at the top but rather in the middle of the edits in the Special:RecentChanges
19:06:48<Ryz>I'm not sure if there's a way to solve this other than unfortunately having every edit auto-pass or auto-moderate through s:

19:35:46<@JAA>Ryz: I guess my point is that the history page should also show the approval time, not the edit time, because that's when the change was actually applied to the page.
19:36:00<@JAA>(And ideally, the edit time would still be kept, of course.)
