22:52:40<asvion>quick question: is it normal to have a very large backlog of things to upload, with nothing being downloaded or uploaded currently? according to the web interface, i have 40 gb of un-uploaded imgur archives. i have a screenshot here: https://ibb.co/GsZCWDj. i've never done this sort of automated archiving before, so it's probably a mistake on my part

22:57:44<@JAA>Uploaded data is heavily compressed. Depending on the project you're running and what it's retrieving, that can easily reduce the upload size by an order of magnitude relative to the download size.
22:58:42<@JAA>But in the screenshot specifically, it's Imgur, and that project is paused, so the only traffic you're seeing is the communication with the tracker.

23:00:06<@JAA>The ratio there sounds reasonable enough to me, especially since we were going through albums last night, which don't download any images (= virtually incompressible) but a lot of HTML (very compressible).
23:00:58<@JAA>There's some amount of item failures as well, which don't get written to the WARC and thus aren't uploaded, but that should be a tiny fraction on the Imgur project.
