16:45:58<Doranwen>thuban: Drat, maybe it was only mentioned and never actually developed. I've used the pgo2mbox quite a bit, but could've sworn there was a json tool. Ah well. It's just that ElectronMail exports all emails as individual files - either eml or json, and somehow I want to figure out how to get them converted to a single mbox, lol. All my searching was just turning up commercial Windows programs or various free online services with
16:46:00<Doranwen>questionable privacy.
16:49:13<thuban>there's https://github.com/yardenac/eml2mbox, though i suspect your distro doesn't package it
16:49:41<thuban>(and i'm curious why you specifically need mbox and not eml)
16:54:24<Doranwen>It's a LOT easier to import one mbox than a million individual eml files. I figured I'd just dump it in Sylpheed like I'm doing with Yahoo Groups, lol. Don't need it in Thunderbird with all my personal email accounts.
16:54:38<Doranwen>I ran across https://github.com/nick88msn/eml2mbox which is newer than the other one, it looks like.
16:55:12<Doranwen>These are actually the accounts created to use with the YG project anyway.
16:55:31<thuban>huh, sylpheed doesn't let you select all when importing?
16:56:01<Doranwen>I... actually don't know. It always defaulted to importing an mbox, I thought. I would have to test with emls. Hmm…
16:58:24<Doranwen>LOL, apparently it was a dropdown. The default was mbox, but it does have eml (folder) as an option. I guess that works!
16:58:42<Doranwen>I just knew I didn't have to do anything to import mboxes, but I'd forgotten it was actually a dropdown.
16:58:50<Doranwen>*anything special
17:01:38<thuban>ahh, there _was_ a json-to-mbox converter from the yahoo groups project https://github.com/anirvan/yahoo-group-archive-tools
17:02:02<thuban>but it's specifically from the yahoo groups project; idk whether it would be compatible with electronmail's json output
