19:27:16<systwi>I wish modern-day SATA drives still had Molex ports.
19:28:33<systwi>Yeah, they could be hell on your fingers, but IDK; they're nice, simple, nostalgic and get the job done.
19:29:46Barto is now known as Barto_
19:29:58<flashmeow>They're huge and take up so much vertical space
19:30:43<flashmeow>you couldn't stack 2.5" drives like you can with sata
19:31:29Barto_ is now known as Barto
19:32:06<systwi>Oh yeah, I should specify, 3.5" SATA drives.
19:32:17<systwi>2.5" SATA drives, no.
19:32:58<systwi>I'm probably biased in that most of my PSUs have only Molex anyway.
19:33:29<Wayward>sata power ports are still kinda stupid and just asking for failure by routing current through parallel conductors
19:33:31<@EggplantN>Did I hear #boomertech
19:33:35<@EggplantN>what’s a moles?
19:33:39<@EggplantN>*molex
19:33:59<Wayward>molex are those large white 4-pin (3 actual pins) connectors from PC power supplies
19:34:23<@EggplantN>It seems I forgot the /s
19:34:24<systwi>Boomer? I'm 20 lol
19:34:34<Wayward>and, there are dozens of other 'molex' connectors in general throughout hardware and automobile wiring
19:34:44<@EggplantN>im 21. So ok zoomer
19:36:44<flashmeow>I'm mostly impressed the industry managed to agree on sata for as long as they have
19:38:00<systwi>It would also be nice to see SAS everywhere instead of SATA. I don't mind SATA, but you know.

20:18:04<Jake>freenode is too! https://freenode.net/news/pia-fn

23:32:29Doranwen wishes there was an easy way to yank fics from fanfiction.net without using a gui program
23:33:13<Doranwen>I always use Fanfiction Downloader, but as one can see, they did a weird thing when they last updated, requiring a *development* version of Qt: http://fanfictiondownloader.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=41123
23:33:52Doranwen always grabbed html and a pdf copy as well (using the built-in functionality with Calibre), because the latter was easier for her to view on the computer itself, while the former worked well for portability
23:34:17<Doranwen>if there were a script method that would do the same thing, that would be awesome
23:48:49<Doranwen>like, I can find quite a few things on github, but so far I'm not seeing anything that'll grab exact chapters from ff.n (that was one of the beautifuls of the FFDL I used - I could say "grab me just chapter 23" from a massive fic collection "fic" and it'd grab just the one I wanted…) and produce html and pdf both for me
23:56:13Doranwen is not finding anything useful :/
23:57:13<Doranwen>found one that does pdf only, which is a bad idea - definitely need the html as well…
23:59:01<grawity>Doranwen: fanficfare has been working well for me
23:59:19<Doranwen>I don't want epubs of them, though
23:59:32<Doranwen>and working *in* Calibre is a pita for me
23:59:34<grawity>...I'm downloading to html though?
23:59:38<Doranwen>because I don't store my info that way
23:59:47<grawity>but never used it for specific chapters, tbh
23:59:50<Doranwen>I thought they always converted to epub no matter what
