06:21:47<theexit8>Hi all! Asked a couple of days ago but didn't get a response, so figured I should just wait a while. Would it be worthwhile to deploy a new ArchiveBot pipeline? I've got a spare server with enough capacity to run it, and can happily follow the instructions on the Wiki myself to install it. Just need to know if the Machine ID will get approved for
06:21:47<theexit8>this to be worth my effort installing it? Thanks again
06:24:01<pokechu22>theexit8: generally we only accept archivebot pipelines from people who have been around for a while, and the pipelines need to be up for a long time (some jobs last for several months, and I think you said that server would only be up through April or so?)
06:24:15<pokechu22>Running Warrior/DPoS projects would probably be more suitable for that, since those are intended to be ran by anyone
06:25:42<theexit8>Ah yeah, sorry, to clarify I've run warriors with about a 95% uptime since June of last year. You can just search my username "theexit8" on the YouTube tracker or URLs
06:27:07<theexit8>I don't recall mentioning something about April? Might have been someone else. I can keep the pipeline running for months so long as it can be paused on occasion in case a drive fails or something

08:29:13<theexit8>Anyways I'll stay logged into this chat for another day or so. If I get the OK to run a pipeline (my server otherwise meets the specs outlined on the Wiki) I'll install and run it as soon as possible
08:44:30<@arkiver>theexit8: what pokechu22 noted is the case at the moment. you are free to run a warrior for example
08:45:05<@arkiver>it's also not only about how long someone has been around, but also how well we 'know' them based on activity here
08:45:21<@arkiver>however final decision on ArchiveBot stuff is for JAA

09:34:43<theexit8>I'm happy to stick around a chat for a while, but if running a pipeline is on an exclusively "we-have-to-know-you-a-lot" basis and I don't qualify then I'm also happy to just leave it that and run warriors only. Up to JAA to decide, I suppose
09:52:36<@JAA>Hi theexit8, yeah, I was going to reply the other night, but you had disconnected. What the others said is accurate. Also, regarding uptime, 95% is nowhere near enough for AB. It has very peculiar requirements, and emergencies/outages are always a headache. As the wiki says, if the machine can't be reliably up continuously for several months at a time, it's not suitable.
10:00:21<theexit8>Alright, fair enough. Many thanks for answering anyways, and may you all take care in the meantime!

20:34:11<Godzfire>I did a full local pull yesterday of the site and it's 11.25gbs. While I can open all the html pages and technically view them, the css/styling doesn't work on them so it looks like crap and the navigation is obviously broke. Hence getting it on Wayback in an actually usable form.
