01:55:38<nexusxe>i think modrinth.com should get an up to date full archive - most of the mods are only partially archived from save page now and lack previous versions - for things like datapacks (which are overall less commonly used) many aren't archived at all
01:56:42<nicolas17>nexusxe: any data size estimate?
02:06:21etnguyen03 quits [Remote host closed the connection]
02:07:33<nexusxe>nicolas17: 35779 mods, most are around a megabyte, some have dozens of versions but many of them have 2-4 versions
02:07:33<nexusxe>there are a few thousand resource packs but almost all of them are in the dozens of kilobytes
02:07:33<nexusxe>i'd estimate like 75 GB

12:26:37<justauser|m>https://encode.su has ~15y worth of compression algorithms and little to no Wayback coverage. Is it an appropriate target for a preemptive !a? I can't really say whether it's a "very large sites, including some forums".

12:49:21<Webuser970723>Hi all, I'm fairly new to the ArchiveTeam, and I'm currently looking into automating container creation and pruning based on active projects.
12:49:21<Webuser970723>Mainly was looking for an API or some endpoint that has updated projects and the state to base the automation in.
12:49:21<Webuser970723>And if I'm trying to re-create the wheel, I would be more than happy to take an already working solution for this!
12:49:21<Webuser970723>Thank you in advance

13:34:07<masterx244|m>re encode.su: the TLD is endangered. afaik its scheduled for getting zapped in the near future ==> https://domainnamewire.com/2025/03/11/icann-moves-to-retire-soviet-era-su-country-domain-name/
13:36:28<masterx244|m>and forum-wise it looks pretty small. 80k posts is a comparatively tame forum. long-running forums with high traffic go into the multi-million posts.
13:36:55<TheTechRobo>Webuser970723: The endpoint the Warrior uses to list projects is https://warriorhq.archiveteam.org/projects.json , if that helps.
13:40:55<Webuser970723>TheTechRobo That helps a lot, thank you!
13:56:12<justauser|m>masterx244: Admin is apparently still active, so I don't consider it endangered. They moved once (from encode.ru I think), they can do it once more.
14:19:17<justauser|m>https://www.squeezechart.com/ https://imagecompression.info/ look worse in that regard, though the latter is hard to crawl (lack of links).

23:02:55<nulldata>JAA arkiver - Any thoughts on archiving the approx 72.15TB of Windows drivers? Microsoft announced they are "cleaning up" (deleting) drivers on Windows Update, starting with previous versions of drivers. They didn't say when it is happening, only that they'll post once the previous versions are purged.
23:02:55<nulldata>https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/hardwaredevcenter/removal-of-unwanted-drivers-from-windows-update/4425647
23:02:55<nulldata>The Windows Update catalog site is pretty limited on searching for drivers. I was able to setup a Server 2025 instance with WSUS and sync all of the categories labeled drivers to get this dump: https://transfer.archivete.am/gcsjC/WUDriversCSV.tar.gz . It contains the direct download links in the MMUrls column.
23:04:48<@JAA>I think it'd be nice to archive that, yeah.
23:07:20<nulldata>It is something I should break into chunks and throw in AB, or given the size considerations is it special...
23:08:34<pokechu22>How big are the files on average?
23:10:40<that_lurker>why not throw the direct download links into #//
23:15:26<nulldata>If the size column is to be believed, the average is around 38MB
23:16:37<@JAA>A bit big for AB, yeah. #// could be an option, although we'd then lose a few URLs and would have no real feedback about coverage.
