15:24:54<deedan06>I don't know how this works, I don't know If you are even interested in this, but http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/ will cease operations at the end of the year. Attempts have been made to archive things, they are incredibly flawed. The forum contains two decades of space probe related discussions many of which with atleast some scientific value,
15:24:54<deedan06>as well as many space images processed by amateurs. I wanted to ask if you are interested in helping, or atleast telling me how I can archive more than surface level links
15:29:38<deedan06>this is what have so far (google drive is not intended to be a long term hosting solution) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZlT9iMe4CagSsA32xtuOv3cMLZmwKwpm/view?usp=drive_link
15:30:33<deedan06>and this is what the creator of the forum managed o get to work https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/imf6e3m50xq6p3nl4gnfg/UMSF_Download_Attempt_FDM.zip?rlkey=if9umlp3m92jjyel2j2kk5l8z&dl=0
15:30:42<deedan06>both attempts have flaws
15:31:03<deedan06>Just wanted to ask if you have any better knowledge on how to archive forums
15:53:41<thuban>deedan06: thanks for the report; we're definitely interested! i've started an archivebot job which you can watch here: http://archivebot.com/?initialFilter=unmannedspaceflight

18:37:47<codeproject>CodeProject is about to die just as happened with programmersheaven.com, wotsit.org and the rest of old source code websites, forums are currently not available, and says this: CodeProject.com has a new home!
18:37:47<codeproject>CodeProject.com is entering a new chapter in its history under the leadership of the passionate team at D2 Emerge, publishers of Software Development Times (SD Times) and IT Operations Times (ITOps Times).
18:37:47<codeproject>David Lyman and David Rubinstein have had a deep connection to software development and pledge to continue to grow the CodeProject.com community and have it continue to be a place developers connect and use as their leading resource for years to come.
18:37:47<codeproject>So what does this mean for you and the community?
18:37:48<codeproject>Well, for starters, all the content you've come to rely on from CodeProject will be available shortly after a site redesign is finished. The community has always relied on the expertise of its members, and we will work to continue to provide the same great community content. Our goal is to make sure CodeProject remains the premier web resource for
18:37:48<codeproject>developers as we all take on the changes that will impact our industry with automation and AI.
18:37:49<codeproject>Until that work is done, we've created a Discord server – codeproject – to get your input into what you'd like to see on the website. Here's the link!
18:37:49<codeproject>And, we have plans to make even more kinds of resources available to you, the loyal users, that will enrich the CodeProject experience.
18:37:50<codeproject>We will continue our focus on building community, embracing the roots of CodeProject and showing how, like you, we will be part of the spirit that makes CodeProject what it is today and in the future.

20:17:46<nicolas17>it was archivebot'd in november

21:05:23<masterx244|m>pulling a small "delta" crawl for those few posts?
21:05:29<@JAA>Another webchat user accidentally posted in #hackint: 21:03:34 < Webuser075058> bymrefitted.com Remake of an old Facebook game. Worried about being taken down for copyright
21:11:58<@JAA>If anyone knows where people might be finding a link that defaults to #hackint instead of one of our channels (other than the tiny text one near the bottom of the wiki homepage, which has always been like that), please do tell. :-)

22:19:13<deedan06>JAA, sorry, I didn't know that.
22:21:46<deedan06>No one in umsf was informed of that. But now I checked the Deathwatch, and I see that the site was in fact mentioned there. Uff, I should have done proper research. Sorry for the trouble. But to my defense, I didn't exactly know the scale of your group. Your mysterious spirits that only communicate over IRC, sorry for being a bit confused
22:43:18<@JAA>deedan06: Yeah, no worries, it's not documented anywhere, and Deathwatch just means we've heard about it some form, not that it's actually archived (because sometimes stuff falls through the cracks). Doesn't help that it's not in the Wayback Machine yet either due to the IA downtime.
