00:39:44<HP_Archivist>Ah alright. Thanks JAA. I might have to create an issue on the GH repo. I noticed that Tubeup sometimes does not grab the highest possible quality video. Using --debug flag in the output reveals the flag for best video/audio but I'm curious as to what specific parameters it's using. Readme doesn't mention this.

09:32:43<thuban>if HP_Archivist comes back: the actual format selection would be done by yt-dlp (https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp#sorting-formats, https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/blob/master/yt_dlp/extractor/common.py#L1639)
09:34:34<thuban>grabbing the wrong format might be due to a problem with yt-dlp's sort heuristics, but (especially if you're grabbing from a less popular site) could as well be a bug in the site-specific extractor which provides format metadata to the sorter

14:51:21<themadpro>This isn't anything new but ever since Yahoo Answers shut down there has been a similar fear of Quora shutting down. Which unlike the Y!A is largely excluded from wayback crawls.

19:29:06<@JAA>Can't find any mention of it in my logs: Blizzard apparently shut down the old, read-only forums (under https://us.battle.net/forums/) in late 2019 or early 2020. Random discussion about it: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/is-the-old-forums-gone/404903

21:03:30<themadpro>Why yes, I do read the logs. ;)
21:03:48<themadpro>Besides "fear" there has been no statement on the company's part, they're in good standing, for now at least
21:04:48<themadpro>Rather, it's a kind of "if Quora (hypothetically) wants to shut down in a week there isn't any easy way to archive it" deal; mostly due to wayback exclusion and also anti-crawler protection
21:05:33<themadpro>Like I said, shutdown fears had been reignited following the Yahoo Answers shutdown, but a year or so later I think the "emotion" has died out
21:05:41<themadpro>But the difficulty of such a chore is still there
