00:33:31<aarchi>Is there any archival worries with Discord being bought by Microsoft?
00:35:27<aarchi>GitHub seems to have been handled well, so there may not be any problems, but larger, more controversial channels might be taken down.

02:14:10<kpcyrd>aarchi: in that case you only get history after you joined, sorry

04:18:44<atphoenix>people with Microsoft phobias might leave. I don't think Microsoft is an immediate threat to the Discord service, but it is worth watching in case MS decides to merge/remix their chat platforms again. Also, MS is currently disentangling themselves from UserVoice forums for product support because they want in-house solutions.

16:30:40<Doranwen>I was trying to figure out which channel to post it to besides that, lol, thanks
16:31:31<Doranwen>the email I got said: "Starting on April 20th you will no longer be able to post any new questions or answers. However, you can still view any posted questions and answers until May 4th. On May 4th the site will be shutting down. If you would like to download a copy of your questions and answers you have posted, you can do this by signing into Your Privacy Dashboard and requesting a download. You will be able to do this until June 30th,
16:31:32<Doranwen>2021 after which your Yahoo Answers data will be securely deleted and no longer available."
16:31:50<atphoenix>No changes....they left out *at this time, but next week they can change their mind again
16:31:56<Doranwen>LOL
16:33:02<@OrIdow6>Yeah, this is prime material for here
16:33:25<atphoenix>Anything UGC on Yahoo is likely closing sooner rather than later.
16:33:28<@OrIdow6>Looks like there was a proactive project back in 2017
16:33:49<@OrIdow6>So all that is needed is to revive that (perhaps after the 20th)
17:08:12<@EggplantN>so we gotta find anything from the last project in 2017 to realtime OrIdow6
17:08:56<@EggplantN>with it being yahoo and their aggressive "FUCK YOU" approach to archiving I'd NOT like to start this after the 20th at all, this needs to be started ASAP
