17:14:11<betamax>ah, so the main page is manually updated (by the mods?) - I thought it was autogenerated using metadata from current / active projects
17:27:33<@JAA>That would be nice, but nope, it's all manual.
17:29:01<betamax>good to know - no rush, I just thought it was automatic and I hadn't filled out some metadata to mark the project as properly finished
17:31:36<atphoenix>betamax, part of the main page is dynamically included from https://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Current_Projects
17:32:03<atphoenix>that's where the Yahoo info is coming from
17:34:04<atphoenix>the dynamic include is via the {{:Current_Projects}}
17:34:04<atphoenix> tag on the Main page. It also can create a bit of confusion when viewing a version of the main page from 2019 (https://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Main_Page&oldid=40889 ) and noticing that it appears to show updates from December 2020...
17:48:04<vicarage>https://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Ispygames also has a bad irc url
18:05:34<@JAA>Well, I don't think we'll update the IRC network for old defunct projects since those channels are abandoned or inexistent anyway after a few years. Doesn't make sense to recreate them here either for that one message every leap year (which is generally spam as well).
18:06:05<@JAA>But it's been discussed recently to point those to this channel instead.
18:09:22<purplebot>Current Projects edited by Betamax (-126, /* Manual projects */ Yahoo Groups …) just now -- https://www.archiveteam.org/?diff=46034&oldid=46020
18:11:42<atphoenix>it makes sense to me to list (as deprecated) the original channel and original network for said channel, but also mention to go to #archiveteam-bs on hackint for further conversation
18:17:07<@JAA>Yep
18:17:35<@JAA>'#archiveteam-bs (formerly #foobar on EFnet)' or similar has been suggested.
18:18:25<atphoenix>continuing the dashboard conversation from #// . I was looking at the histogram for multiple projects including domains-grab. I find the darkest shades (like bin size 1 and 2) hard to see on the chart. The sample size of 1M results in the full vertical scale also loses some of the very large outliers at certain timescales. I wonder if a scatterplot would work better?
18:19:46<atphoenix>I also see there is a 'median/mean' item size chart on the right side of the dashboard. Was this just added or did I just not see it before? How is the lookback period determined there to create the graph? Also, may want to edit the text 'median/mean' to be ''median & mean', as they're not really being divided.
18:22:24<atphoenix>A standalone single-value 'Mean/Median/Max' metric would provide those values for the whole selected time period, at a glance, without the darkness issue.
